Things to remember when choosing a funeral establishment and arrangements.
1. Experience: The Mumaw family has been serving the Antelope Valley since
1913 (103 years) Five generations have contributed to this.
2. You are in charge and your ideas and wishes should come first.
3. Beware of those who try to get to your purse strings by pulling your heart strings.     Many times, salespersons actually receive training in how to work on your                 feelings by using such terms as "showing your love" aka trying to get you to
purchase merchandise or services you don't need.
4. Caskets, it is easy to let your heart get away from you when it comes to choosing
a casket. That's only human however, you need to be prudent and watch your
funds. It won't do you or your loved one any good to go into debt. We offer
caskets beginning at $525.00 for 20 gauge steel non-sealing caskets and go up
    from there.
5. It's the extras that add up. Many firms offer extras which can add up very, very
quickly in their favor. We prefer to keep things simpler and not push such items.
6. What type of service should you choose? Well, as for prices...
The Graveside Service with a visitation on the day prior is becoming more
used as it makes things simple and straight forward.
The Chapel Service with Graveside is more expensive as there is not only a
viewing the day before, but also a service at the funeral home prior to the
           graveside service.
The Church Service is usually the most expensive of the three as everything
needs to be moved to the church for the services.
7. Cremation... when we give a quote on our cremation costs, it will be the amount
for what a usual cremation will be with the only thing added being the certified
copies of the death certificate. Different families will need a different number
of these as not all families have the same circumstances. And, at $21 each, it's
a good idea to get what you need and not a lot more as they add up quickly.
Should you prefer to have a viewing, many firms will try to talk you into a
"rental" casket. Fact is, these can cost you as much and sometimes more than
a casket at the beginning price. Instead of that, we offer a tasteful alternative
which goes back to the time when viewing were held in the home. And, this
will not cost you any extra above and beyond the viewing itself and, unlike
a purchased casket, will not add any charges to the actual cremation.
8. If you go in to get prices, I would be wary os any firm who tries to pressure
you for information or tries to get you to sign anything. Information should
always be provided with no strings attached
